A Video all about Danielle!
Eating Disorders, Disordered Eating, Sports Nutrition
Danielle earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She then earned her Master’s of Science in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University. She stayed at A&M to attain a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition to pursue a career as a registered dietitian. She completed her dietetic internship at the University of Oklahoma’s Health Science Center.
While working for Performance Nutrition, the nutrition department for athletes at Texas A&M, during her Master’s and Post-Bac, she discovered her passion to help athletes and exercising individuals discover freedom from disordered eating/eating disorders. Her dietetic internship had a heavy focus on clinical experience, but also focused heavily on eating disorders/disordered eating and sports nutrition. She worked closely with private practice dietitians who specialized in disordered eating, intuitive eating and HAES approaches. For four months, she gained additional sports nutrition experience with the nutrition department of the University of Oklahoma that supported their football team. Lastly, she spent a year and a half assisting a consultant sports dietitian by creating educational resources for her clients while gaining counseling skills.
Danielle cultivates a counseling space that incorporates empathy and understanding. She understands patience is needed during this process and will work with you to go at your own pace, while challenging you to find peace and even joy during this journey. She will do her best to help you find your intrinsic motivation through clinically proven approaches. Her evidence based approach to eating disorders and sports nutrition allows for a collaborative effort as team, between patient and dietitian.
Upon request, Danielle can offer a Christian faith-based approach to nutrition counseling. This includes Christian values and scripture while working toward recovery. Danielle lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Outside of work, she enjoys walking her cockapoo dog, Mia, finding hole-in the-wall coffee shops, listening to podcasts, going to the gym, and visiting friends in different areas of the US.
