Licensed Professional Counselor
A video all about Elizabeth:
Elizabeth Bolton is a board-certified Licensed Professional Counselor. An enthusiastic dancer from the age of 3, Elizabeth grew up immersing herself in classical ballet training, colored with other dance forms for 16 years.
At that time, her goals changed and she earned her BA in Psychology, then her MA in Professional Counseling at Texas State University. With as much enthusiasm as she learned dance, Elizabeth gained knowledge and experience in counseling, beginning at Houston Galveston Institute, then focusing on eating disorders and associated concerns as a therapist at Center for Discovery at the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient level.
In January 2019, she began working at the outpatient level. Elizabeth works with those 12+ years old on eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, and self-injury. Additionally, Elizabeth is passionate about working with athletes on performance anxiety, the mental side of injury recovery, mind + body relationship, and identity exploration.
Outside of the office, Elizabeth lives with her husband and 3 hobbits-in-cat-form. She can be found experimenting with landscape and macro photography or working on jigsaw puzzles.
International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp), Houston Eating Disorder Specialists, and Chi Sigma Iota (Professional Counseling honor society). Through iaedp, Elizabeth hopes to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist in 2020.
