Jacqueline earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Health Education at the University of Texas at El Paso and worked for a non-profit in community nutrition education for three years before completing her Dietetic Internship at the University of Houston. She is currently receiving training and supervision from Jill Sechi, MS, RDN, CEDRD-S to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist Registered Dietitian. 

Through her college years, Jacqueline realized she wanted to pursue a career in nutrition counseling to facilitate behavior change, chronic disease prevention, nutrition therapy and healthy relationships with food. Growing up in the border towns of El Paso, TX and Juarez, Mexico, Jacqueline values cultural food diversity and believes it to be an important aspect of finding joy in food and nutrition. Jacqueline wholeheartedly wants to address nutrition concerns and provide nutrition therapy in a space that is safe, weight-neutral, collaborative and culturally aware. With a foundation of evidence-based practices, she hopes to come alongside individuals and/or families to dig deep into motivation, values and goals fully expectant that every journey will be unique. 

Upon request, Jacqueline can offer a faith-based approach to nutrition counseling and therapy. This will incorporate scripture and Christian values as part as the discussions and treatment plan towards food peace and recovery.  

Jacqueline lives in Houston, TX with her husband, daughter and two dogs. Outside of work her hobbies are trying new restaurants, visiting coffee shops, taking a stroll in the neighborhood and visiting with friends and family.

Al crecer en las ciudades fronterizas de El Paso, TX y Juárez, Mexico, Jacqueline valora la diversidad cultural de la comida y cree que es un aspecto importante para encontrar alegría en la comida y la nutrición. Jacqueline desea abordar las preocupaciones sobre la nutrición y brindar terapia nutricional en un espacio seguro, neutral en cuanto al peso, colaborativo y culturalmente consciente. Con una base de prácticas basadas en la evidencia scientifica, espera acompañar a las personas y/o familias para profundizar en su motivación, valores y metas, con la expectativa de que cada individual es único. 

Jacqueline vive en Houston, TX con su esposo, su hija y dos perros. Fuera del trabajo, sus pasatiempos son probar nuevos restaurantes, pasear por el vecindario y pasar tiempo con amigos y familia.
