Kris earned their Bachelor’s of Science in Food & Nutrition from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), followed by their dietetic internship at the University of Houston. They spent the next several years as the Nutrition Services Manager of the Kids Cafe Program at the Houston Food Bank, which is an amazing service that provides hot meals to food-insecure children across 18 counties. They are currently receiving training and supervision from Jill Sechi, MS, RDN, CEDRD-S to become a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian.
Kris discovered their passion for helping those with eating disorders and those experiencing food insecurity through their own experiences as a young adult. They saw firsthand how structural, societal, and familial factors impact health, especially nutrition. Kris believes in seeing every client as an individual and in working together to tackle the big issues. Their favorite thing in the world is seeing that lightbulb moment of discovery when someone really discovers or internalizes new facts and truths about nutrition and eating. Kris is passionate about addressing eating disorders and health concerns through a weight-neutral, trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+-informed lens.
Kris currently lives in Pearland, TX with her brilliant, amazing wife and tiny, fluffy dog (who thinks she is a cat). In her free time, Kris indulges her ever-growing list of hobbies, including (but not limited to!) woodworking, podcasts, drawing, cooking, gardening, reading, attempting to fix things, soaking up sunshine, and watching cartoons. She is a passionate student of history and sociology and enjoys learning as much as she can about everything, particularly the history of food and nutrition.
